Nic Roldan’s Sunset Polo and Tregothnan have made the hottest ever tea

Nic Roldan’s Sunset Polo and Tregothnan have made the hottest ever tea Tregothnan are delighted to be supporting Nic Roldan’s Sunset Polo and his philanthropic work with this blend of truly British tea, created with transatlantic tastings by Nic Roldan with Tregothnan for Sunset Polo events.  The Sunset Polo tea blend will be available this Saturday at the $100,000 World Cup Polo Championships Final at Grand Champions Polo Club, where at 6pm Nic will be signing Sunset Polo Tea Caddies and will give one of his “NR” baseball hats away with each caddy bought.  Proceeds of the sales will go to Nic’s chosen charities. Tregothnan is the nearly 700-year-old Estate in England and home of the first tea grown in the UK. Tregothnan tea was first planted in the family’s botanical gardens in 1999 and now produces many tons a year across the Estate, owing to the unique climate and deep sea creek of the river Fal. A refreshing and aromatic blend of the freshest tea leaves, plucked and dried in England, retaining the greenest chlorophyll captured from the sun. The British tea is blended with China’s finest Green Tea, spicy Cardamom Pods and Tregothnan Chamomile. This revitalising blend of tea is finished with luxurious Saffron, giving it the golden glow of a Summer’s sunset. Development of the Tregothnan Sunset Polo Blend Jonathon Jones CEO of Tregothnan with Dee Roldan Expectations from a tea blend could scarcely be higher. The brief for the tea blend, apart from being delicious was to deliver: Hitting the ball Athleticism Faster horses Improved personal appeal Winning polo And most importantly to help raise as much...

Giving back to St. Jude Children’s Hospital with David Yurman

I spent Tuesday night surrounded by some of my closest friends and polo colleagues, meeting new people and shopping for jewelry to benefit St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. It was the opening of the new David Yurman boutique at Town Center at Boca Raton.  Hosted by Town & Country magazine, we invited all of our friends to the in-store event where I met some of David Yurman’s most important clients and browsed some beautiful pieces chosen by Town & Country fashion editor Stellene Volandes. David Yurman was so charitable to donate a portion of the evening’s proceeds to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, a cause I have supported throughout most of my professional polo career. Hampton’s Dinner Video with Grey Goose

The video from Grey Goose’s Summer Punch Film Series has become available to me, and as promised, I would like to share it with you!  Back in August, I hosted a dinner party in the Hamptons for Grey Goose and some close friends.  The night was filled with great weather and a magnificent scenery, delicious Hamptons Punch, and a wonderful dinner, prepared by a private chef, for my friends and I.  It was the perfect evening to celebrate both the sport of polo and Grey Goose.  I hope you enjoy the video!...

Summer dinner with Grey Goose

Last Saturday night, I hosted a dinner for Grey Goose in Amagansett, NY to promote their Summer Punch Film Series.  The set-up was intimate and the cocktails were delicious.  It was so much fun hanging out with friends and being a part of this series.  I will post the video when it becomes available to me.  Until then, here are a few photos from the...

The Nic Roldan Elite Saddle

After spending years in saddles that poorly fit my horses, I finally did something about it. I am excited to introduce the Nic Roldan Elite Saddle, which is designed to be the best fitting, best performing polo saddle ever made or ever conceived of. The team that created this is made of saddle makers, saddle fitters, chiropractors and veterinarians, all working together to help create one saddle that would help the horse perform at peak during the game as well as recover fastest afterwards. As polo has gotten more competitive and polo players have gotten better in the last 40 years, we keep pushing the envelope asking more and more of ourselves, our horses and our equipment. One of the reactions is the movement of our saddles forward, off the horses backs and on top of thehorses shoulders. This gives us a slight advantage but seriously affects ourhorses ability to perform. So I needed a saddle that could move the player forward while still keeping the rider’s weight back on the loin and not interfering with the shoulder movement – which is so critical for the sideways movements in polo. My new saddle has a patented new tree, concept and panels that actually does this and has a revolutionary new, completely adjustable polo saddle that is crafted to fit the horse perfectly. The saddle places the rider 3 to 4 inches farther forward than a conventional saddle, giving the player the advantage without affection the horse’s performance. You can get the saddle exclusively at PoloGear at 3500 Fairlane Farms Road #15, Wellington, FL 33414....

Chicago!

This week I flew straight from Germany to Chicago for the kick off events to the inaugural Grey Goose Chicago Beach Polo World Cup which I had been asked to host. Grey Goose had me at the brand new PUBLIC hotel which is just beautiful. The first event was a Grey Goose Blue Door experience for the trade where we learned a lot about Grey Goose and why it tastes so refined. It’s pretty amazing to learn what goes into making it. Grey Goose’s mixologists came up with some awesome cocktails  which were served and the recipe for my favorite cocktail is below. The event included a cooking demo by top Chicago Chef Ryan Poli. My co-host, model and Polo player Paula Chermont from Brazil and I played sous chefs which was a lot of fun. Yesterday I hosted a media polo clinic for some of Chicago’s top media giving them the basics on how polo works. There were a few naturals in the crowd! Some jumped up on the horses and did a good job of hitting the ball. The kick off events concluded last night with a great party. It was a real honor to host and the whole team couldn’t have been any more wonderful. Wish I could have stayed for the weekend but had to head back home to gear up for the tournaments in Wellington!
